‘Twas The Night Before Christmas by Shauna Jones-Meehan
‘Twas the night before Christmas,
Where the candles were lit
And the music did play
But tonight would be such a hit
Where a mountain of bodies did lay
There was a knock at the door
3 men dressed in black
They asked if they could have help
Then they pulled out a sack
To which there was a yelp
The door slammed and the lock clicked
There was no escape
The candles blew out
All could be heard was a scrape
What was this all about
Then a sound of sharpening knives
What could all this mean
One quick slice
Then the knife was wiped clean
The room felt like ice
Another slice and groan
Something fell down
Everything was so dark
Where was the rest of the town
Even the dog dare not bark
The time had come
This was the last
The town was no more
All the blood had been splashed
As they closed the door
Christmas was never to be
No one got to see the dawn
The flames gone out
They would never live on
Death was here there was no doubt.
T’was the night before Christmas.
